GL-3600-160 1-Component Appliance Glass Ink

1. Overview & Applications

The GL-3600-160 Series is a premium, 1-component, low-temperature baking ink designed specifically for glass products. It delivers excellent adhesion and superb chemical resistance without the need for a hardener.

Applicable Substrates: Glass and Metal.

Primary Applications: Decorative appliance glass (Color Crystal Glass) and architectural glass panels.

Process Compatibility: Highly versatile formulation optimized for both screen printing and industrial spraying processes.

2. Physical & Chemical Performance

Testing Conditions: Printed with 102 Extra White using a 200-mesh screen. Baked at 170°C for 30 minutes, then cooled to room temperature.

Gloss Finish High Gloss
Baking Requirements 160°C - 180°C for 25 to 30 minutes.
Environmental Compliance Fully complies with EU RoHS heavy metal standards.
Adhesion (Cross-Hatch Test) 3M Tape Peel Test: 100% Retention (No peeling)
Boiling Water Resistance Submersed in boiling water for 1 hour: No abnormalities
Cold Water Submersion Soaked for 240 hours: No abnormalities
Acid & Alkali Resistance Soaked in 5% H₂SO₄ and 5% NaOH respectively for 24 hours: No abnormalities
MEK (Solvent) Resistance Cotton swab with MEK, 500g load, 100 rubs: No abnormalities

3. Color Series

The GL-3600-160 series offers 39 standardized colors, thoroughly tested for compliance with European RoHS heavy metal limits.

  • Standard Colors: 102 Extra White, Yellows, Reds, Blues, Greens, Purples, Black, and 901 Clear Varnish Base.
  • CMYK Process Colors: 801 Red, 802 Yellow, 803 Blue, 804 Black.
  • Metallic Colors: Fine/Medium/Coarse Flash Silver, Bright Silver, Dark Silver, Red Gold, Cyan Gold.
  • Pearl & Chameleon: Pearl Gold/Bronze, Chameleon Red/Purple/Blue/Green.
  • Transparent Tints: Transparent Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple.

4. Processing Guidelines & Formulations

Surface Preparation

Before screen printing or spraying, the glass substrate must be thoroughly degreased and dusted. Failure to do so will compromise ink leveling and final adhesion.

Application Methods & Mixing Ratios

Application Method Formulation & Thinner Selection
Screen Printing Process Thinner Selection: 818 (Medium-Dry) or 783 (Slow-Dry).
Mixing Ratio: 100 parts Ink + 15 to 30 parts Thinner.
Stir thoroughly until a uniform printing viscosity is reached.
Spraying Process Thinner Selection: 3700 Fast-Dry Spraying Thinner.
Mixing Ratio: 100 parts Ink + 90 to 130 parts Fast-Dry Thinner.
Stir thoroughly to achieve the correct atomization viscosity.

Curing Protocol

  • Baking: Immediately after printing or spraying, bake the substrates at 160°C - 180°C for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Cooling & Full Cure: After baking, allow the glass to cool naturally at room temperature for 24 hours. The ink will reach its peak adhesion and maximum chemical resistance only after this cooling/resting period.
  • Storage & Shelf Life: Store in a cool, dry place away from heat and open flames. Shelf life is 1 year. Do not intermix with other ink series.
Important Disclaimer: The technical data and application processes provided herein are based on controlled laboratory conditions and serve as a technical guide. Due to the high variability of glass coatings, printing/spraying environments, and oven efficiency, users MUST conduct comprehensive small-batch reliability testing before initiating mass production. We assume no liability for damages caused by untested applications.
