HF-HWC - 2-Component Hard-Coat Screen Printing Ink

1. Overview & Applications

The HF-HWC Series is a high-performance, 2-component reactive screen printing ink explicitly formulated to bond with extreme surface-treated substrates. It provides a semi-gloss finish, exceptional surface smoothness, robust flexibility, and extreme chemical and abrasion resistance.

Primary Specialized Substrates: Hard-coated Acrylic (≤ 3H hardness), Hard-coated PC, and Hard-coated PET films.

General Substrates: Standard Acrylic, Metals, PVC sheets, ABS, Baked Enamel Panels, and UV Coated Panels.

2. Physical & Chemical Performance

Testing Conditions: Printed on Acrylic panel using a 250-mesh screen (Colors: 120 White, 710 Black). Forced baked at 70°C for 60 minutes, then rested at room temperature for 1 week.

Gloss Finish Semi-Gloss
Adhesion (Cross-Hatch) Tape Peel Test: 100% Retention
Pencil Hardness ≥ 3H
Alcohol Resistance Cotton swab with alcohol, 500g load, 200 rubs: No abnormalities
MEK (Strong Solvent) Resistance Cotton cloth with Cyclohexanone/MEK, 500g load, 20 rubs: No abnormalities
Skin Care Product Resistance Cotton cloth with cosmetic lotion, 1000g load, 100 rubs: No abnormalities
Thermal Shock / Cycling 20 cycles of: [80°C for 2 hrs] ➔ [Room Temp 0.5 hrs] ➔ [-20°C for 2 hrs] ➔ [Room Temp 0.5 hrs]: No abnormalities
Water Resistance Submersed in tap water for 1 week: No abnormalities

3. Color Series

The HF-HWC series is available in the following standard solid colors, specifically formulated for high adhesion and opacity.

  • Whites & Blacks: 120 White, 121 High-Density Extra White, 710 Black, 711 Insulating (Non-Conductive) Black.
  • Colors: 210 Lemon Yellow, 265 Orange-Red, 500 Fiery Red, 510 Deep Red, 580 Peach/Magenta, 495 Purple, 400 Light Blue, 440 Blue, 350 Green.
  • Clear Base: 800 Clear Varnish Base.

4. Mixing Formula & Processing Guidelines

Mandatory 2-Component Formulation

This ink relies on a strict chemical cross-linking process. Stir the base ink thoroughly before adding the hardener and thinner.

HF-HWC Ink 100 Parts
HAC-S Hardener 10 Parts
Thinner 20 - 30 Parts. (S-700 Standard Thinner or S-800 Slow-Dry Thinner).
*Recommendation: Use S-800 Slow-Dry Thinner when printing fine text to prevent screen clogging.

Pot Life & Curing Requirements

  • Pot Life: Once the hardener is mixed, the ink must be used within 4 to 6 hours. Higher workshop temperatures will significantly shorten this usable window.
  • Touch Dry: 20 to 30 minutes at room temperature (25°C).
  • Mandatory Baking (Full Cure): To achieve the stated 3H hardness and extreme chemical resistance, the printed substrates MUST be force-baked at 70°C for 60 minutes, followed by a 24-hour rest at room temperature.

Storage & Precautions

  • Hardener Sensitivity: The HAC-S Hardener is highly sensitive to atmospheric moisture. Reseal the container immediately after use.
  • Store the ink in a cool, dry place away from heat and open flames. Shelf life is 24 months.
  • Do not intermix HF-HWC Series inks with other brands to prevent adverse chemical reactions.
Important Disclaimer: The technical information and extreme test results provided herein are based on controlled laboratory conditions on specific substrates. Because the surface tension of hard-coated (anti-scratch) films and UV coatings varies dramatically across different manufacturers, users MUST conduct comprehensive small-batch reliability testing to confirm ink adhesion before initiating mass production. We assume no liability for damages caused by untested applications.
