MPS - High Gloss Screen Printing Ink

1. Overview & Applications

The MPS Series is a premium, high-gloss screen printing ink known for delivering exceptionally sharp and crisp graphic definitions. It boasts outstanding resistance to alcohol, grease, and moisture.

Applicable Substrates: ABS, PVC, AS, PC, PMMA (Acrylic/Plexiglass), Paper, as well as Acrylic Painted and Powder-Coated Panels.

Primary Applications: High-end home appliance casings, pens, self-adhesive labels, nameplates, and membrane switch overlays.

2. General Printing Specifications

Coverage / Mileage Approx. 70 square meters per kilogram (Tested with 350 mesh PET screen and 75° sharp squeegee).
Air Drying (25°C) Touch Dry: 5-10 minutes. Hard Dry: 24-48 hours.
Environmental Compliance Fully complies with EU EN-71 and Japan ST heavy metal standards.

3. Physical & Chemical Performance Tests

Testing Conditions: Printed on ABS Sheet using 102 White and 502 Blue through a 300-mesh screen with a 75° squeegee. Cured at room temperature for 7 days.

Adhesion (Cross-Hatch) Kraft Tape Peel Test (1mm spacing): 100% Retention
Pencil Hardness 45° angle, 200g load: 1H
Alcohol Resistance Cotton swab with alcohol, 200g load, 100 rubs: No abnormalities
Water Resistance Submersed in tap water for 7 days (room temp): No abnormalities
Detergent Resistance Soaked in 3% neutral dish detergent for 8 hours: No abnormalities
Grease / Oil Resistance Soaked in salad oil for 8 hours (room temp): No abnormalities
Gasoline Resistance Cotton swab with 90# Gasoline, 200g load, 100 rubs: No abnormalities
Boiling Water Resistance Submersed in boiling water for 1 hour: No abnormalities
Anti-Blocking Resistance Printed face-to-face at 50°C under 500g/cm² pressure for 24 hours: No abnormalities

4. Color Series

The MPS series includes 65 standardized colors, all rigorously tested for heavy metal compliance. Pantone matching formulas are available upon request.

  • Standard Solid Colors: 102 Extra White, 201 Lemon Yellow, 301 Bright Red, 401 Purple, 502 Heliogen Blue, 602 Extra Green, 702 Extra Black, 901 Varnish Base.
  • High-Opacity Series (G): G2201 Yellow, G3301 Red, G4401 Purple, G5501 Blue, G6602 Green (Ideal for dark substrates).
  • CMYK Process Colors: 801 Process Red, 802 Process Yellow, 803 Process Blue, 804 Process Black.
  • Metallic & Pearl Colors: A01-A07 (Flash Silver, Bright Silver, Gold); B10-B27 (Pearl Silver, Chameleon Colors, Bronze).
  • Fluorescent & Transparent Colors: D-Series (Fluorescent Yellow, Red, Blue); T-Series (Transparent Red, Yellow, Blue, Black).

5. Processing Guidelines & Precautions

  • Thinner Selection: 515 (Standard Thinner), 616 (Slow-Dry Thinner). Add 15% - 25% by weight and mix thoroughly before printing.
  • Screen Mesh: Use solvent-resistant screens of ≤ 420 mesh/inch.
  • Substrate Cleaning (Crucial): For plastic substrates containing high levels of plasticizers or mold-release agents, you MUST wipe the surface with SS-958 Cleaning Solvent prior to printing. It is recommended to let printed test samples sit for over 10 days to verify long-term ink-substrate compatibility.
  • Storage & Shelf Life: Store in a cool, dry place tightly sealed. Keep away from heat and open flames. Shelf life is 2 years.
