ColorGuard Technical Data Sheet (TDS)
PPT-2 - Flame-Treatment-Free PP Ink
1. Overview & Applications
The PPT-2 Series is an advanced screen printing ink specifically engineered for PP and PP-blended paint buckets. It features Flame-Treatment-Free processing for PP substrates, delivering exceptionally high color brightness, printability, and adhesion.
2. Performance Parameters
| Gloss Finish | High Gloss |
|---|---|
| Water Resistance | Soaked in tap water for 24 hours: No abnormalities |
| Adhesion | Excellent on untreated PP |
| Environmental Compliance | EU RoHS, EN-71, and Japan ST heavy metal standards. |
3. Processing & Surface Treatment Guidelines
- Thinner Selection: PP-50 (Fast-Dry) or PP-80 (Slow-Dry). Add 10-15% by weight.
- PE Substrate Warning: While PP is flame-treatment-free, when printing on PE (High-Density Polyethylene) paint buckets, the surface MUST undergo flame treatment to achieve >42 dyne surface tension before printing.
- Aged Stock Warning: Paint buckets stored for long periods or containing high plasticizers may experience adhesion drops. Pre-wipe the surface with PP-9 Treatment Solvent to resolve this.
- High Opacity Needs: For dark substrates without printing a white base, use the 'G' Series High Opacity Colors, or mix in 102 Extra White.
