ColorGuard Technical Data Sheet (TDS)
SSPU - Textile & Heat Transfer Screen Printing Ink
1. Overview & Applications
The SSPU Series is characterized by strong adhesion, brilliant colors, full ink layers, and a soft hand-feel. Crucially, it supports Heat Transfer Printing processes. It bonds exceptionally well to waterproof nylon, synthetic leather, genuine leather, oxford cloth, and various chemical fibers.
Primary Applications: Garments, shoes, leather bags, advertising umbrellas, woven labels, and soccer balls.
2. Performance Parameters
| Gloss Finish | High Gloss |
|---|---|
| Drying Time (25°C) | Touch Dry: 10-20 mins | Hard Dry: 24-48 hours |
| Adhesion (Cross-Hatch) | Kraft tape peel test (1mm spacing): 100% Retention |
| Water Resistance | Tap water soak (24 hours): No color bleeding. Excellent adhesion. |
| Washing Resistance | Soaked in 3% soap powder solution (24 hours): Pass |
| Anti-Blocking | Printed face-to-face at 60°C under 500g/cm² for 24 hours: Pass |
3. Processing & Heat Transfer Guidelines
- Thinner Selection: 515 (Fast), 616 (Medium), 717 (Slow-Dry for Summer). Add ~20% by weight.
- Hardener for Extreme Waterproofing: When printing directly onto highly waterproof PU-coated nylon, add 3-5% B-5 Hardener. (Pot life is 8 hours after adding).
- Heat Transfer Caution: The ink is fully capable of heat transfer printing in its 1-component state. However, adding the B-5 Hardener will cause the ink to lose its heat transfer properties.
- Testing Curing Strength: For 1-component printing, test adhesion after 24-48 hours. If hardener is added, wait 48-72 hours before testing.
