Thinner Paste (Viscosity Reducer Gel)

1. Overview & Applications

The Thinner Paste is a translucent, jelly-like rheology modifier that exhibits excellent compatibility with PVC, nylon, metal/glass, and plastic screen printing inks. By substituting standard liquid solvents with this paste, printers can significantly improve the 3D tactile effect and crispness of printed graphics.

Primary Functions: Effectively prevents common printing defects such as edge blurring, stringing, bleed-through, substrate show-through (poor opacity), and color mottling.

Specific Applications:

  • Signage & Nameplates: Enhances the sharpness and 3D definition of fine text and logos.
  • Nylon & Oxford Cloth: Prevents ink penetration (bleed-through) into the fabric, stops edge blurring, and maintains a solid, opaque ink layer.

2. Product Models & Drying Speeds

Model Drying Speed & Recommended Application
M-1 Fast-Dry Fast evaporation. Recommended for large-area solid printing and winter/low-temperature use.
M-2 Slow-Dry Slow evaporation. Ideal for fine details, halftones, and summer/high-temperature use.
M-3 Medium-Dry Medium evaporation rate for standard, year-round general printing.

3. Mixing Instructions

Add the Thinner Paste directly into the screen printing ink. The recommended addition ratio is 20% to 35% by ink weight. Stir the mixture thoroughly until a uniform consistency is achieved before printing.

4. Precautions & Storage

  • Gloss Reduction: Adding large amounts of Thinner Paste may result in a slight reduction in the ink's final gloss level.
  • Textile Hand-Feel: When used in large quantities with nylon inks, it may slightly increase the stiffness (hand-feel) of the printed layer.
  • Pre-Testing Required: Always conduct a small-batch print test before mass production to evaluate the paste's impact on gloss, adhesion, and overall finish.
  • Storage & Shelf Life: Store in a cool, dark environment at low temperatures. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
  • Oil Separation: After prolonged storage, a clear, oil-like substance may separate and float to the surface. This is normal. Simply stir the paste thoroughly before use; product quality and performance are unaffected.
Important Disclaimer: The technical information, processes, and guidance provided herein are intended as a reference. Because substrate materials and printing environments vary greatly, users must independently test the formulation to ensure it meets their specific requirements before entering mass production. We assume no liability for damages caused by untested applications or improper usage.
