UV - Embossed Mirror Panel Screen Printing Ink Series

1. Overview & Applications

The UV Embossed Mirror Panel Ink Series is specifically formulated for screen printing on PET-laminated mirror aluminum sheets. It delivers unique 3D tactile embossed visual effects with exceptional adhesion and superior chemical resistance.

Visual Effects Available: Matte sand texture, 3D crystal, refractive patterns, ice/flower textures, and water ripples.

Primary Applications: Integrated ceiling manufacturing and decorative metal panel screen printing.

Environmental Compliance: Fully complies with EU RoHS heavy metal standards.

2. Product Models & Specialized Effects

The series comprises 7 distinct models designed to produce standalone effects or stunning multi-pass combination prints on a single aluminum sheet:

  • UV-MS-02: Fine Sand Embossed Ink
  • UV-MS-06: Medium Sand Embossed Ink
  • UV-MS-08: Coarse Sand Embossed Ink
  • UV-TZ-20: Dot Embossed Clear Varnish
  • UV-TZ-30: Raised / Embossed Clear Varnish
  • UV-TZ-40: Foaming Embossed Clear Varnish
  • UV-TZ-60: Refractive Embossed Clear Varnish

3. Transparent Tinting Inks & Consumables

  • UV Transparent Tinting Inks (M-01 to M-12): Available in 12 vibrant shades (Lemon Yellow, Primary Yellow, Orange-Red, Orange-Yellow, Crimson, Peach, Red-Brown, Sapphire Blue, Sky Blue, Green, Black, etc.). Addition ratio: 0.1% to 2% by ink weight to create colored transparent 3D effects.
  • UV-AD Thinner: Dedicated thinner. Add up to 5% in cold winter conditions to adjust viscosity. Summer printing generally requires no thinner.
  • 877 Screen Cleaner: Recommended cleaning solvent for screens and equipment.

4. Screen Mesh Guidelines

Ink / Varnish Model Recommended Screen Mesh Count
UV-MS-02 (Fine Sand) 250 - 300 mesh/inch
UV-MS-06 (Medium Sand) 180 - 200 mesh/inch
UV-MS-08 (Coarse Sand) 80 - 120 mesh/inch
UV-TZ-20 / TZ-30 (Dot / Raised Varnish) 100 - 300 mesh/inch (Thick emulsion stencil)
UV-TZ-40 (Foaming Varnish) 100 - 200 mesh/inch (Standard stencil)
UV-TZ-60 (Refractive Varnish) 350 mesh/inch (Refractive pattern screen)

*Important Note on Sand Inks: Using a mesh count higher than recommended will cause immediate screen clogging and rapid thickening. Always select the mesh count based on the coarsest sand ink when blending formulas.

5. Processing Guidelines & Printing Controls

  • Immediate UV Curing: All models are UV-curable and must enter the UV curing unit immediately after printing. Delaying exposure will alter the 3D pattern and compromise adhesion (especially critical for UV-TZ-40 Foaming Varnish).
  • UV Curing Parameters: Lamp power: 5 to 7 kW high-pressure mercury UV lamp. Curing time: 1 to 3 seconds. Replace UV lamps after 400 hours of use to prevent under-curing.
  • Stencil Preparation: Emulsion thickness directly dictates the 3D tactile height. Thicker emulsion = deeper embossing; thinner emulsion = flatter finish. Ensure clean, sharp pattern edges.
  • Squeegee Durometer & Angle: Use a sharp squeegee with a durometer of 70 to 75 Shore A. Maintain consistent pressure and angle across runs.
  • Screen Gap (Off-Contact): Recommended gap is 3 to 5 mm. Keep it as low as possible while maintaining clean snap-off.
  • Printing Speed (Foaming Varnish): For UV-TZ-40, printing speed heavily dictates the foaming structure. Faster speed = stronger 3D foaming effect; slower speed = flatter effect.
  • Bending Limitation: Due to the high hardness of the embossed ink layer, bending angles exceeding 50° may cause micro-cracking. Leave appropriate blank margins in areas designated for bending.
Important Disclaimer: The technical parameters, mesh counts, and guidance provided herein are based on controlled laboratory conditions. Because substrate laminates and shop environments vary, users MUST conduct comprehensive small-batch trials to confirm visual aesthetics, 3D height, and adhesion before initiating full-scale production. We assume no liability for damages caused by untested applications.
